Residents at The White House have enjoyed a special holiday together to encourage well-being, independence and positive life experiences.
Four residents enjoyed four days in Skegness, exploring the seaside town’s holiday attractions including fairgrounds, climbing, visiting the seal sanctuary, and enjoying an evening at a local restaurant. Residents helped to select activities during the trip, with specialist support from Bramacare’s medical and mental health professionals to ensure patients could enjoy their time without risk to their recovery journey.
Adam Smeaton, Activity Coordinator at Bramacare, said: “We’re really pleased to have been able to take our residents on such a successful summer holiday this year. As Activity Coordinator, my role is to encourage residents to pursue hobbies and enjoy activities in support of their journey towards recovery. Each year we take residents on holiday together, this year we chose Skegness for its great opportunities and huge variety of tourist attractions while being near practical locations like medical centres if required.
“Each of our residents had a wonderful time exploring the seaside, go-karting, climbing and making encouraging progress in their evening meals at the restaurant with support from the Bramacare team.”
Bramacare host a variety of trips throughout the year for its residents at The White House and day care service-users at Bramacare Community, including equine therapy, theatre and cinema, care farms, as well as supporting individual interests such as carpentry, gardening, football and volunteering.
